Peter Gibbons recently retired from 3M as group president of Enterprise Supply Chain. He was responsible for 110 plants, 88 distribution centers, 43,000 people, as well as COGS ($13B), capital expenditure ($1B) and inventory ($4B).
At 3M he led the transformation of operations into a global function delivering major improvement in safety, service, productivity, COGS and working capital.
His career as a global transformation leader has covered industrial, automotive distribution, consumer, retail and specialty chemicals sectors.
Prior to 3M, Peter launched and led as chief executive officer the last mile tire distributor, TireHub, a joint venture between Bridgestone and Goodyear. Peter previously held senior-level executive positions at Mattel, Starbucks and ICI.
Peter serves on the board of The Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University and was recently appointed to the board of Solstice, a materials science business formerly part of Honeywell. He was recognized as a Global Scot by Scotland’s First Minister and speaks regularly at conferences and events. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Edinburgh and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Strathclyde Business School in Glasgow, Scotland.
