Neil Forrest is a seasoned health, safety, environmental, and sustainability executive, currently serving as Vice President of HSE & Sustainability at Seadrill Limited. With more than 25 years in the oil and gas sector, Neil brings a global perspective—having led initiatives and operations spanning the UK, US, West Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
Starting his career in engineering and rig management at Transocean in the mid-1990s, Neil advanced through operational, training, and HSE leadership roles. At Seadrill, his responsibilities have further evolved, culminating in strategic leadership of the organization’s HSE and sustainability agendas.
Neil is recognized for his innovative leadership. At the 2024 IADC HSE&T Conference in Houston, he unveiled Seadrill’s SHARED Supervision program—a pioneering safety training initiative integrating SMEACS-based military methodology to enhance supervisor readiness through task-oriented missions. The program reflects his commitment to embedding safety culture through immersive, real-time practices.
Notably, Neil has also engaged with global industry peers to discuss the implementation of Seadrill’s Start Safe process, sharing best practices and insights that contribute to fleet-wide safety performance improvements.
